Following the Graham County Fair, we headed back to Duncan for a “Fan Appreciation” tailgate party as part of the Duncan High School Homecoming festivities where we welcomed fans from Duncan and Elfrida for a varsity football showdown between the Duncan Wildkats and the Vallery Union Blue Devils. We always have a great time when we get to throw a party and this was no exception as we served up over 160 hotdogs, bags of chips and bottles of water to hungry fans from both communities. We also donated $200 to the Duncan High School Junior Class and collected additional donations totaling for the Duncan Student Council. Of course, what would be a Valley tailgate party without lots of great stuff to give away like slingshot footballs plus a drawing for a “Valley Tailgate Party Pack” that included a Valley trunk organizer filled with stadium seats, stadium cups, mugs, sunglasses, lip balm, mini footballs, and bug spray (our winner was Lewis B. of Duncan). We also had cheerleaders throw 100 Valley logoed mini footballs into the crowd during the game. We had a great time and so did all the football fans and we can’t wait to do it again.
