Streaming over Zoom from Curry Farms in Pearce, AZ for almost eight hours during the day and mentoring Valley Union High School Media students shooting a documentary, Valley TeleCom got to play a major part in this prestigious event that combines agriculture with modern science in the field of chili peppers where world renowned experts come together every two years for educational talks about soil, plant genetics, water use and good practices for all growers. The Conference also includes a field day that featured talks combined with a varietal tour of over 40 different types of peppers along with demonstrations for harvesting, high-end weed control, de-stemming and seed/pulp processing. A fantastic educational opportunity for local FFA kids to attend and a great documentary experience for VUHS students who will now be working with Tucson NBC affiliate KVOA 4 on some news features. Valley was more than happy to lend a helping hand and play a part when we were needed.
